Sadie Wireman and Michael Wireman’s cases will not go to trial in Starke Circuit Court.
During a hearing held Tuesday, their defense attorney and the prosecuting attorney presented an agreed recommendation for a sentence for their guilty pleas. The mother and son would be pleading guilty to an amended charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance as a Class D felony. Judge Kim Hall will review the recommended sentence and a sentencing hearing was set for Thursday, Dec. 5 at 9 a.m.
Several other defendants pleaded guilty to charges and will not stand trial today. Sherry Wireman pleaded guilty to charges in three different cases including Dealing in Methamphetamine as a Class B felony and Class D felony charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Precursors and/or Chemical Reagents. An agreed recommended sentence was filed and the total sentence recommended would not exceed 10 years. Judge Hall will review the case and deliver a decision in a sentencing hearing set for Thursday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m.
Michael Campbell pleaded guilty to an amended charge of Dealing in Methamphetamine, a Class B felony. An agreed recommended sentence was filed in court. In that recommendation, his total sentence would not exceed 10 years. The judge will render a decision in this case in a future hearing.
Meanwhile, charges of Criminal Confinement and Domestic Battery were dropped against John Lewandowski. Another hearing in this case is set for Jan. 15.
